It’s usually right around this time of year that all things fall enter “preview” season.
Stores have “pre-fall” collections. TV shows have fall previews. Football has pre-season. Back to school starts, like, now.
Is it just me….or is fall is starting to have more SEASON CREEP than Christmas? Take it ALL, fall, you self centered season, you.
This blog post (and I, I guess) are admittedly part of the problem. Why? Well, even though it’s only August, I keep thinking about all of the trips that I already have planned for fall, and my head has definitely been spinning. I thought if I wrote it all down in the manner of a blog post, it might stop me from panicking.
You could call it a fall travel preview. Or an update on my take 12 trips resolution. So here’s what’s on deck for my fall travel plans.
My Crazy Fall Travel Plans
September: A girls trip to Vegas, part two, over Labor Day weekend Once was simply not enough.
September: As you might have guessed from this instagram, I’m heading to NYC! This trip will be part work, part fun. Similar to last year’s trip which was right around the same time of year. September is my favorite time of year to visit NYC, so I feel lucky to be able to do it again.
October: Back to NYC a few short weeks later – this time for a black-tie wedding, which I am incredibly excited about. I rented this dress and I absolutely cannot wait to wear it! You might remember my general enthusiasm around Rent the Runway as a strategy for packing less – and I’m ready to put it into action!
October: I have a work conference just a short drive up the road in Laguna Beach, so I’ll be staying there for a few nights, instead of going back and forth to San Diego. Works for me!
November: I’m heading to Boston for work at the beginning of the month. I’m planning for cold weather but excited to put my coats and boots to good use!
December: I’ll be kicking off the start of the month with yet ANOTHER trip to NYC. 2015 seems to be the year of girls’ trips and trips to NYC. Ain’t complaining.
December: I’ll be wrapping up the year with a road trip to Phoenix to visit family for the holidays. Hoping that Season 2 of the best road trip soundtrack ever will be out by then, to make the miles fly by.
WHEW! I think I will definitely have surpassed my goal of taking 12 trips by the time 2015 winds down. I wonder if I can top this in 2016?
I’ve already started thinking about some key pieces that I want to add to my wardrobe in time for these trips, so that I can plan my packing around them. Stay tuned!
